SR-X50A
Yamaha · £599
Nice, but provisional
Yamaha's True X range, built around genuinely wireless surround speakers that can be added later, which is a real answer to the usual problem of rear channels needing cable across a room. On its own at £599 it is dearer than the Samsung at £549 that includes a subwoofer, so the premium is being paid for an upgrade path rather than for what is in the box today.
- For
- Someone who intends to add wireless rears and wants a bar built to accept them.
- Not for
- Anyone buying one box and stopping there, where £599 buys more elsewhere.
What we checked
- It is part of Yamaha's True X range with wireless surround. Richer Sounds
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
