Master-Touch Premium 57cm
Weber · £389

Worth being NRY provisional
The kettle everyone pictures when they think barbecue, with a hinged lid attached to the bowl so you are not looking for somewhere to put it mid-cook. Charcoal is the only fuel that actually tastes of anything, and a 57cm kettle does indirect cooking as well as searing, which no gas barbecue under £900 manages. At £389 it is the cheapest serious thing in this category and the one most likely to still work in 2040.

- Someone who wants real charcoal flavour and is happy to wait twenty minutes for coals.
- Not for

What we checked
- The lid is hinged and attached to the bowl rather than lifted off. Weber
- The Premium model includes a diffuser plate. Weber
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
