Cast Iron Round Cocotte, 24cm
Staub · £210

Worth being NRY provisional
The 24cm, 3.8 litre cocotte at £210, which is the size a household of four actually uses. Staub enamel the inside black and leave it slightly textured, which takes seasoning in a way Le Creuset's cream enamel does not, and the lid is dimpled underneath to drop condensation back onto the food. Suitable for induction, and it will outlast the kitchen it sits in.
- For
- Someone buying one casserole for stews, bread and everything slow.
- Not for
- Anyone who wants to see the colour of a sauce as it cooks: the black interior hides it.
What we checked
- Staub describe it as iconic, induction-suitable, and built to retain heat and moisture. Borough Kitchen
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
