Worth being NRY provisional
Sony's OLED at 55 inches, £1,499, and the argument for Sony has always been the processing rather than the panel: they buy panels from the same places everyone else does and get more out of them, particularly with film. Brightness is the stated improvement over its predecessor, which is the one thing OLED has historically been short of.
- For
- Someone who watches a lot of film and wants motion handled properly.
- Not for
- Anyone who wants the most screen per pound: 65 inches of Samsung costs less.
What we checked
- Sony state it is brighter and truer in colour than the model it replaces. Richer Sounds
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
