AMBEO Soundbar Plus
Sennheiser · £999
Nice, but provisional
Sennheiser's case is that a single compact chassis can fill a room without satellites, and the Ambeo processing is the most ambitious attempt at that here. At £999 it costs the same as the Samsung system that includes a subwoofer and two rear speakers, so you are paying a full system price for one box. Buy it if a single object is the point; it is not the most sound for the money.
- For
- Someone who will not have speakers around the room and wants the best single box regardless.
- Not for
- Anyone willing to place a subwoofer and rears, who gets more at the same price.
What we checked
- Sennheiser build it to produce room-filling sound from a compact chassis. Richer Sounds
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
