36cm Pre-Seasoned Carbon Steel Wok
School of Wok · £45

Nice, but provisional
Thirty-six centimetres of pre-seasoned carbon steel for £45, which is the same money as the hand hammered thirty and six centimetres more pan. The reason it is not the pick is the surface: smooth rather than hammered, so there is nowhere to rest cooked food while you fry the next thing. A good pan with less to it.
- For
- Someone who wants the extra size and does not cook in stages.
- Not for
- Anyone who would use the hammered ridges, which cost the same.
What we checked
- It is carbon steel, for everyday Chinese cooking at any level. Harts of Stur
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
