Galaxy Watch9, 40mm
Samsung · £349
Nice, but provisional
£349 for the Android answer to the Apple Watch, with sleep, heart rate and workout tracking in a 40mm aluminium case. It does everything competently and it is locked to the phone in your pocket, which is the real decision here rather than the specification. Against the Coros at £298 it tracks training less well, and against the Withings it is another screen to charge nightly.
- For
- Someone on a Samsung phone who wants the watch to be part of it.
- Not for
- Anyone whose main use is running or sleep, where this category does both better for less.
What we checked
- Samsung position it as a health coach with sensors for workouts, sleep and heart rate. John Lewis
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
