Jancis Robinson Original Universal Wine Glass
Richard Brendon · £96

It’s good, but this is close and much better value: the Richard Brendon Precision universal glass, £52 provisional
The glass Jancis Robinson designed with Richard Brendon to do every job, mouth-blown by hand so the walls are thin and the weight almost disappears. The universal premise is the serious argument in this category: one correctly shaped bowl serves red, white, sparkling and fortified, and the alternative is owning four shapes and using two. Mouth-blown glass is thinner than any machine can make and correspondingly easier to break.
- For
- Somebody who will own six glasses for twenty years and wash them by hand.
- Not for
- A household with a dishwasher and short patience.
What we checked
- Mouth-blown by hand. Richard Brendon
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
