Burgundy Glass

Richard Brendon · £96

A pair of wide-bowled burgundy glasses, shown together.

Nice, but provisional

A wide-bowled burgundy glass from the maker of the universal one, which is a pleasing contradiction and a fair one: a very wide bowl genuinely does more for pinot noir than any compromise shape can. Richard Brendon make the practical case themselves, that it is sized to fit on your dining table and in your dishwasher, which is not true of every burgundy glass. Forty-eight pounds a stem for a shape you will use with one grape.

For
Somebody who drinks burgundy often enough for a dedicated glass to earn its shelf.
Not for
Anyone building a first set, where one universal shape does more work.

What we checked

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
