3776 Century Fountain Pen

Platinum · £265

A black resin fountain pen with rhodium trim and a gold nib, shown uncapped.

Worth being NRY provisional

Fourteen carat gold, rhodium plated, in a resin body named after the height of Mount Fuji in metres. The 3776's real distinction is its cap seal, which is engineered to stop the ink drying when the pen sits unused, so it starts first time after a fortnight in a drawer. If you write in bursts rather than daily, that single feature matters more than any amount of nib refinement.

For
Somebody whose pen lives in a bag and gets used twice a week.
Not for
A daily writer, for whom the sealing cap solves a problem they do not have.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
