Lumix G9 II, body only
Panasonic · £1,399
Nice, but provisional
Panasonic’s Micro Four Thirds flagship, 25.2MP stills and 5.7K video at £1,399. The video specification is genuinely ahead of anything else here at the price. What gives a buyer pause is the sensor: at £1,399 you are £230 from a Canon R8 with a full-frame sensor, and the smaller format is the one thing you cannot upgrade later.
- For
- Someone whose work is mostly video and who already owns Micro Four Thirds glass.
- Not for
- Anyone buying into a system now, where the format decision outlives the body.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
