Two-fold cotton poplin made in Italy, 105 grams per square metre, cut easy rather than slim. The weight is the number to notice: just over a hundred grams is a proper dress-shirt poplin, light enough to wear under a jacket all day and dense enough not to show what is underneath. The St James's collar is tall, which is the correct answer under a tie and the wrong one without.
