Cutaway Collar Flannel Shirt
New & Lingwood · £175

Nice, but provisional
Cotton flannel with a cutaway collar and a French placket, which is the placket with no stitched-down band so the front reads as one clean line. Flannel is brushed cotton, so it is warm, soft from the first wear and prone to pilling at the elbows and the inside of the cuff after a winter or two. At a hundred and seventy-five pounds it is a seasonal shirt rather than a staple.
- For
- A cold office, or a shirt worn as a light overshirt in November.
- Not for
- Year-round wear. Flannel in July is unwearable and it pills where it rubs.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
