A recycled-plastic shell on a galvanised steel base, with UV stabilisers in the composite so the colour holds rather than chalking after two summers. The shell is comfortable in the way a moulded seat can be, which is to say fine for a long lunch and not for a long evening. At £259 a chair you are paying for Iskos-Berlin's line as much as for the plastic, and six of them is £1,554 before you have a table.
