Worth being NRY provisional
Solid walnut earcups rather than plastic, hand-finished, on a steel headband, and Meze argue the wood does acoustic work as well as cosmetic. Everything is replaceable by hand with no glue, which at £249 is a more unusual claim than the walnut. It is the cheapest thing here that will plausibly outlive its warranty by a decade.
- For
- Someone who wants closed-backs they can repair rather than replace.
- Not for
- Anyone who needs noise cancelling, which these do not have at any price.
What we checked
- The earcups are solid hand-finished walnut rather than plastic, which Meze say improves the sound as well as the look. Richer Sounds
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
