Bubble Club Outdoor Armchair
Kartell · £659

Nice, but provisional
One sheet of batch-dyed polyethylene, moulded in a single piece, which is why it has no joints to fail and no fabric to store. Starck drew it in 2000 as a joke about club armchairs and it has outlived most of the furniture that took itself seriously. The honest caveat is that £659 buys a very large plastic chair: it will not rot, it will not rust, and in full sun the colour will eventually go.
- For
- Someone who wants one generous outdoor seat that can be hosed down and left where it is.
- Not for
- Anyone short of space. It is 77cm wide and 80cm deep, and it reads even bigger.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
