Setu Multi Purpose Chair
Herman Miller · £879
Worth being NRY provisional
One piece of elastomer doing the work of a mechanism: the Kinematic Spine flexes as you lean, so there is nothing to adjust and nothing to go wrong. At £879 it is half the price of the chairs above it because it has half the parts, which is a real argument rather than a compromise. It is the right answer for a desk you use for two or three hours rather than eight.
- For
- Someone who wants a good chair for part-time desk work and will not fiddle with levers.
- Not for
- Anyone at a desk all day, where full adjustability earns its cost.
What we checked
- The Kinematic Spine bends and flexes with the sitter, with elastomeric fabric conforming to the body. John Lewis
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
