L9Q Laser TV

Hisense · £3,999

An ultra-short-throw laser projector in a low dark cabinet form, throwing a large image up a wall.

Worth being NRY provisional

Five thousand lumens from a laser engine 18cm from the wall, up to a 200 inch picture, every HDR format including Dolby Vision, and speakers tuned by Devialet with Dolby Atmos. Brightness is the whole argument in ultra short throw, because the point of the format is a room you live in with the curtains open, and this is the brightest thing in the category by a wide margin. The Devialet system matters for the same reason: this is replacing a television, so it has to sound acceptable on its own.

For
Someone replacing a large television who wants a 150 to 200 inch picture in a normal, lit living room.
Not for
Anyone without the wall for it, or who has not budgeted for an ambient-light-rejecting screen.

What we checked

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
