Pure Cotton Casual Shirt
Harvie & Hudson · £75

Nice, but provisional
Seventy-five pounds for a pure cotton shirt from a Jermyn Street shirtmaker, with a semi-cutaway collar and a two-button cuff. Harvie & Hudson are unusually straight about where the money went: the buttons are plastic. That is the honest difference between this and their own dearer shirts, and plastic buttons are the right thing to economise on, because they are the one component you can have replaced for a few pounds by anybody with a needle.
- For
- Somebody who wants a proper shirt shape at the price of a high street one.
- Not for
- Anyone who will notice the buttons, which is more people than admit it.
What we checked
- A semi-cutaway collar, classic fit, two-button cuff and plastic buttons. Harvie & Hudson
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
