Instinct 3 Solar
Garmin · £350
Worth being NRY provisional
Solar charging, which Garmin claim delivers unlimited battery in sufficient daylight, at £349.99. That is the whole product: a watch that in summer you may genuinely never plug in. You pay for it with a memory-in-pixel display that looks dated beside the AMOLED models and reads perfectly in bright sun, which is where this watch is meant to be.
- For
- Someone spending long days outdoors, hiking or sailing, away from a charger.
- Not for
- Anyone mostly indoors, where the solar panel is decoration and the screen is a downgrade.
What we checked
- Garmin build it to harness sunlight for battery life. Sigma Sports
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
