Limes Eau de Toilette

Floris London · £125

A clear glass fragrance bottle with a white label and gold cap, shown upright.

Worth being NRY provisional

A citrus eau de toilette built on lemon and petitgrain over a musk base, from a house that has been blending on Jermyn Street since 1730. Citrus is the hardest thing to do in perfumery because it evaporates fastest, and the musk base is what stops this vanishing by lunchtime. £125 for something made by the same family in the same shop for nearly three centuries is the least fashionable purchase on this site.

For
Someone who wants a summer fragrance that is not a designer release with a celebrity attached.
Not for
Anyone wanting something that lasts all day, because an eau de toilette at this concentration will not.

What we checked

  • It opens on lemon zest and petitgrain over a musk base, and the maker describes it as suitable for women and men. Floris London
  • The top notes sit over a robust musk base in the dry down. Floris London

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
