Sea Island Cotton Shirt
Emma Willis · £390

Nice, but provisional
Sea Island cotton in a two-fold 120s, and Emma Willis are refreshingly candid that this is not the finest count they sell but it is the silkiest cloth. That is the honest account of Sea Island: an extra-long-staple fibre whose value is in the handle rather than in the thread count, so it feels like nothing else and does not photograph differently. Three hundred and ninety pounds buys a sensation, which is a real thing to buy and is not the same as buying durability.
- For
- Somebody who has worn one and understood what the fuss is about.
- Not for
- Anyone expecting it to last longer than the cheaper poplin. It will not; it will feel better.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
