Cotton Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirt
Drake’s · £225

Worth being NRY provisional
Floating interlinings, single-needle construction and a rolling collar, made in their own factory in Somerset. The floating interlining is the fact worth paying for: the stiffener inside the collar is sewn in loose rather than glued to the cloth, so the collar keeps its shape through washing instead of bubbling and cracking, and single-needle seams are sewn in two passes rather than one so they sit flatter. The rolling collar is why this shirt looks right with no tie.
- For
- Somebody who will own one shirt for a decade and wash it fortnightly.
- Not for
- Anyone wanting a crisp formal collar. This one is built to roll, not to stand.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
