Tanso Teak Garden Bench

Case Furniture · £1,150

A teak garden bench with a slatted seat and a low back, shown from the front.

Nice, but provisional

Grade A teak, which is the heartwood cut with the highest oil content and the tightest grain, drawn by David Irwin for Case. The detailing is where the money goes: the frame is resolved so that nothing on it reads as a bracket. It is £1,150 for a bench, and Grade A teak is a real distinction rather than a marketing one, but the gap to a £350 teak bench is mostly design.

For
Someone furnishing a garden they intend to keep, who wants the bench to be the piece people notice.
Not for
Anyone for whom a bench is seating rather than a decision.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
