EOS R8, body only
Canon · £1,629

Worth being NRY provisional
The lightest full-frame body Canon make, 24.2 megapixels, 40 frames a second, 4K at 60p, £1,629. Full-frame at this weight is the thing worth paying for: the usual objection to a large sensor is the size of everything attached to it, and this is the body that answers it. Canon thinned the build to get there, so it has one card slot and a smaller battery.
- For
- Someone who wants full-frame and has been put off by the bulk of it.
- Not for
- Anyone shooting weddings or events, where one card slot is a professional risk.
What we checked
- The lightest full-frame Canon body, 24.2MP, 40fps burst and 4K 60p video. Park Cameras
Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
