Audeze · £399
Worth being NRY provisional
Audeze planar drivers with their SLAM tuning, at 18 ohms, which is deliberately easy to drive: these are built to work off a laptop rather than to demand a desktop amplifier. Audeze aim them at studio monitoring, and that is the honest description of the sound too, which is precise rather than flattering. At £399 they sit between the Sundara and the open-backs above.
- For
- Someone who wants to hear what is actually on the recording, including the parts that are not nice.
- Not for
- Anyone looking for a warm, forgiving sound to enjoy an indifferent recording on.

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
