Arc'teryx's own Conduit Down is £700 and carries a higher 1,000 fill power, so for most people it is the better buy: more warmth per pound, from the same maker. The Sorin's £1,600 buys a three-layer GORE-TEX Pro shell wrapped around the down, which earns its keep in sustained wet cold and does very little in a city. Start with the Conduit unless you already know you need the shell.
