Conduit Down Jacket

Arc'teryx · £700

A black short down jacket with a stand collar and rounded silhouette, shown from the front.

Worth being NRY provisional

The Conduit is filled with 1,000 fill power goose down, which is about as good as down gets and is rare at any price, let alone £700. Arc'teryx put it under a Pertex Diamond Fuse face fabric at 43gsm, so the weight goes into warmth rather than into a shell you may not need. It is not waterproof, which is the trade you are making and the reason it costs less than half what their hard-shell down jacket does.

What we checked

  • It uses 1,000 fill power goose down certified to the Responsible Down Standard, the highest grade in common use. Arc'teryx
  • The outer is a light 43gsm ripstop from Pertex rather than a heavy waterproof laminate. Arc'teryx
  • The maker describes it for cold weather and claims no waterproofing anywhere on the page. Arc'teryx

Marked provisional: the justification rests on 1 source(s); two independent ones is the bar. We publish it anyway and say so, rather than waiting for evidence that may never arrive.
